The head is where power is made on all motor setups, a stock head is going to restrict your power like crazy.

not necessarily. i also use to think the same not too long ago. from what i seen on most builds, a stock head is never used to its full potential. the money that is spent on a port and polish can be used on other components or modifications that will give you a way better power per dollar ratio.

a good valve job is all you need. 220whp been done numerous times with a stock head on a b20v. thats more than enough for the average street person.

power isn't always everything. a 4.7 FD and an LSD will make a difference.

when honda made the type r, they focused on EVERY THING. the size of the rims with the tires, to the gearing of the tranny while focusing on the power band. GETTING TO THE POINT, you build the package as a WHOLE. every thing complements each other. dont focus on one thing and forget about the other, your going to waste money and be dissappointed.

btw, of course a GOOD ported head will make more power than a head that is not ported, but my point is this, do you really need a ported head? your goals may not be the same as others. one person might love 200whp with 150wtq, and the other person might like 300whp and 200wtq. its all up to the persons budget and the power that they want.

Theres no way stock b16 or gsr cams are making 220whp maybe ITR's but then you aren't supposed to rev past the b16 or gsr rev limit which I doubt you will make 220whp then.

Of course power isn't everything you have to put it to the ground.
