EG Hatch front door speakers

It states that you can get 6.5' comps in the front doors but I'm having trouble finding a set that clears...not enough depth for the basket? Anyone know of some component sets that drop right in?

no didn't measure it...I picked up a set of Blaupunkt comps really cheap and dry fit them, the basket is way big. Places like crutchfield all list the fronts as 6.5's but I can't see how...unless they are using some mad shallow speakers.

I heard in most cases that 1" rings have to be used but I'd like to retain a stock looking door lining, with the door speaker covers.

What I should have done is researched it a bit better or went with some 5 1/4's rather than 6 1/2's comps for those skinny ass doors.

i had the same problem on my brother's del sol. i fixed it easy by breaking the back of the basket on the door so the magnet of the speaker will fit threw it so i still used the basket and the speaker fit right in.
