Why is my top radiator hose hot & my bottom hose cold?

iite so i jus did the headgasket on my car.. oem headgasket with oem water pump and arp head studs (tq down to 85).. no leaks at all only from the cam seals cuz i didnt change them.. other than that the motor runs bangin.. but i noticed that the top hose would be hot like hard to push down like boilin.. so i changed thermostat.. now its still the top hose is still hot and the bottom hose is cold.. with the new thermostat someone said to bleed the system but the screw is gone.. they also said my temp needle is higher than normal it sits directly in the middle.. any help would help

you have to bleed the system. is your fan wired constant? if so, put it to normal. take the radiator cap off, and start the car. let the car run and keep pouring antifreeze in if its not overflowing until the fan comes on. fan comes on means the thermostat opened means the bottom hose is hot.

run the car till the hose is hot like you said, turn the heat on low, when the hoses are in the condition you posted, turn the car off ge ta few rags and opn the radiator cap, see how much pressure come out. more air then coolant or vice versus.

    I suspect a clogged radiator.
or blockage else where in the cooling system.
i can help you but your gonna have to bring the car to nyc
