New york speeding ticket, can they be beaten?

Hey Guys,

I am new to the forum. I have been lurking around since June. I drive 96 Maxima and a 97 civic (my uncles but i drive it).

Anyways, I hate fro my fisrt thread to be about a speeding ticket but I just got my first on the Belt parkway West yesterday early in the afternoon.

The police officer never stopped me or was behind me at all. He was actually up ahead adn signaled his sirens on a group of cars ahead of me. when he signaled every car ahead of me braked and slowed down because they thought they were all going to get ticketed. so i also slowed down. I was like the second to last in the middle lane. when i drive up and he is now beside me, he takes hand out the window and signals me to pull over. he never drove behind me or anything.The thing is traffic was kind of conjested (belt parkway in the afternoon) so i was in the range of 50-55. He tells me he clocked me at 68. I asked if he was sure it was me because he was so far up ahead and we all were slow to come up to him because all of the previous cars braked when they saw him and drove slowly by him.

Any way, this guy gives me 72 in 50 mph. He seemed nice but he actually slapped me with tint tickets too. He said my front windows had 30% visibility, and the rear had 40% visibilty.

I spoke to traffic lawyer that is around the dmv and she said sshe can get rid of the tint tickets and she probably can get rid of the speeding.

I neve got a ticket before, can she really help?

I have been driving for 4 years and I am 23.

when i asked, he said radar.

But in the decription box he just wrote speeding.

yeah, my uncle had it since like 2000. He did a lot of modifications to it over the years. It was not even manual, he converted it. So to be honest maybe its not an SI. I will ask him if it was originally or did mod it in. I live with him, he took me in when my father died and looked after me since i was 5 months old.

I cannot let him find out about this speeding ticket, it would hurt him so much...

almost impossible to beat a speeding ticket... but you can always challenge it.. if you story sounds accurate, then the cop has to show the receipt from the radar gun catching you at that speed..

Its prob just a 97 ex depending if it has the sunroof or not i would change that on your post cause ppl will flame you non stop for it
