3/16/03 I installed, the crank,1 piston and rod with rings into the motor for piston to valve clearance check. I used the how to writeup on www.c-speedracing.com. The writeup was very helpful. Only trouble I had at first was getting the smaller pin out of the rocker. I used the air compressor to blow alittle air into the hole on the rocker and it came right out. I did the test 2 times. I was expecting to see alot less clearance on the intake side. 2nd time around came up with the same specs. Im taking the block back to the machineshop with my results for final tweaks. Once it comes back its ready for the final assembley

3/22/03 I got the block back from the machine shop. Got my final compression ratio and final clearaces from my clay test last week. My headgasket should be here by the end of the week. That is pretty much all im waiting for to complete the motor and install it into the crx.

Are Those Clay Markings On The Piston What You Use To Check The Valve Clearance?

yes that is clay. I was told piston to valve with the toda spec d's was going to be really close. turns out I had plenty of room.

thrust washers. they take the abuse for the side to side play on the crank. There cheap, replace them every time you rebuild. rob

any reason why you didnt plug the oil squiters off ? pluging them will lower weight off the rotating assembly. there primary function was to cool the stock cast pistons which you no longer have.( im sure you know this just stating so others will know why i asked)
