Do paddle shifters drive like a manual?

Obviously we all know about this new "craze" about these pseudo-manuals called paddle shifters. I've never driven a car with them before, but what I want to know is that do they feel and act like a manual?

What I mean is that would the car roll back if you're not on the brake, or if it would have a slight lurch when you shift, etc. you get the point.

I know this question might sound kinda noobish lol but I have no clue what these paddle shifters are all about and I prefer a true manual all day any day

paddle shifters have barely any characteristics of a normal manual transmission car. basically u hit the upshift or downshift button whenever u want but first of all it doesnt shift right away on most cars its about a second delay because obviously its not mechanical its computer controlled. its kinda gay but its better on some cars than others im not a big fan of mixing them the car is either auto or manual... the only thing i like about paddle shifting is when i want power that the car does not have u can manually downshift to get that power

the fits come with them.. you can feel the difference cuz if ur in the wrong gear u can feel n hear it.. jus like if ur drivin a stick shift car and ur goin to fast for 1 gear.. But you dont get the same power as u do in a stick shift car OBVIOUSLY... its cool tho
