no input signal

this shit just started happening...I'd cut the comp on...use it for a lil bit..step away from it for a bit and try to use it..it would say monitor sleep..ok thats normal...so id move the mouse...get no response...hit the sleep button + esc....get no response...id have to cut the shit off and cut it back on to use it again...now...2 days later...i cut the comp on and the monitor says no input signal then goes into monitor sleep shit...
......i went to best buy...copped another wire that goes from the monitor to the comp...still nothing...then i hooked the monitor up to another comp...shit works fine...wats really good...now when i cut the comp on...the fan runs full blast and thats it...any help?
