ACL bearings or OEM?
I'm getting my first motor built and wanted to know what most suggest or have experienced with either ACL Main and Rod Bearings, or with the OEM's. Also I went to the Acura dealership and they are telling me that each individual motor doesnt take the same bearings as the next, that each motor has color coding on the crank or some shit like that. Let me know people thanks...

Ppl will suggest different things. The oems are good cause u make the clearance what u want while acl is a standard size. I use acl race series in my car. And i have had no problems motor spins up to 9100 rpm and have had the car on the dyno a number of times. Still no bearing damage. I work at the dealer paragon acura and yes it is true all motors dont come wit the same size bearing. On the block and the crank u will find the codes then u go to the service manual to see what color u need. The color determines the size. 99% of the time manufacturer makes the clearances tighter than a race motor cause they build for longivity.

Nice, I was leaning more towards, the OEM's simply for the reliable aspect, and that i plan on road racing also, so since I'll be reving high often, I guess i'd rather have the comfort of custom clearance...Thanks for the info EG6
