oh, and for those of you thinking about learning how to wheelie right off the bat, think again. you must learn the basics of riding before getting into stunts, have some common sense and of course not let your ego override your abilities. here is another story for you, this one is about stunting before you should.
this kid i used to know went and bought a new gixxer 750 as his first bike. he didn't listen to the people around him who told him to learn the basics of riding first and to wear proper gear. so he would come out in shorts and a t-shirt, and one day decided to try to wheelie a few times. the first few times the bike comes up no problem, he gets scared and lets off the throttle, bringing the bike down pretty hard. he decides to drop it down a gear and really make the bike come up, not realizing he is in second, not third. so he drops it down a gear (into first, but thinking it was second) and whacks the throttle open. before he knew it, the bike was on top of him, and he is sliding down the pavement with the bike on top of him. to make matters worse, when the bike looped on top of him and they hit the ground, the engine case broke, and was spilling hot oil all over him and his new road rash. when we finally pulled the bike off of him, he stood up, and was skinless from his neck to the bottom of his back. the bike was wrecked (he actually broke the frame at the steering neck), and he had only liability insurance. so once again, he is in pain, healing in the hospital, paying for a bike he had to throw in the garbage. so in short, a new rider, trying to ride above his abilities, on a bike that was too powerful for him, made a simple mistake and it wound up costing him a lot of pain, suffering, and money.

vic, it depends on a lot of factors, including age, driving record, and believe it or not, credit history.
the best thing to do is call around first and see who you can get the best rates from. and chris, i'm glad i was there to help you out, and i am glad as well that you listened to me.
