.wash your bike i use plexus which cleans your bike and prevents any condensation from seeping in
.take the battery out from under the rider seat connect it to a battery tender
.get a heavy duty bike cover which will protect your bike from the elements
.if u can get two pieces of carpet or two pieces of wood and put each one under a tire(also make sure your tires are properly inflated)
.get a disk lock or some sort of anti-theft device
.put some wd-40 in your exhaust and cover it with a plastic bag
.cover intake with a plastic bag
.make sure you have a full tank of gas also get a fuel stabilizer to keep the octanes up..a bottle of fuel stabilizer goes for $8
.lube up your chain last thing you need when spring arrives is to have a dry rusted chain ( i recommend using bel ray chain lube)
.change your bikes oil this way it is able to turn on without a problem when spring arrives
.when spring arrives i would recommend to get new tires since your bike would be stationed outside and also get a new oil change..last but not least ride safe

yup, this pretty much sums it up. my only additional advice would be to keep the bike on stands if you have them or can get them, instead of just letting the tires sit on the ground.
