Both parties are doing the same thing. Both parties are the same thing. Each "team" is a white man plus a minority.

copy and paste from another site.....

matter of fact the two have only met once!
McCain’s first encounter with Sarah Palin came at a Washington meeting of the National Governors Association in February, according to a campaign-provided reconstruction of how the little-known Alaska governor was thrust into the national spotlight. The two discussed the position by phone on Sunday before McCain invited Palin and her husband to Arizona to formally make the offer. McCain, joined by his wife, Cindy, did just that Thursday morning at their home near Sedona, Ariz.

Furthermore, he spoke just once on the phone about the position before offering it in person earlier this week!

The story behind the Palin surprise - Jonathan Martin - Politico.com

Wonder what the motives truly were for McCain to make such a decision? Was he jealous of all the coverage of the Obama machine? Trying to hop on the 'change' bus? Trying to snatch up those angry Hillary pant-suitists? Surely not to beef up his foreign policy team.

She is also in bed with big oil and has been for a while. A bit of a trend lately for high profile Republicans.

"Palin raised at least $4,500 for her unsuccessful 2002 campaign for lieutenant governor from executives of VECO Corp., an oil services contractor at the heart of a massive influence-peddling investigation. Alaska Republican Sen. Ted Stevens is accused of accepting more than $250,000 in home renovations and gifts from VECO executives and failing to disclose them on his annual financial statements; the senator says he is innocent.

Palin received $500 each from nine VECO executives in December 2001, including then-CEO Bill Allen, who last year pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy, bribery and tax charges and agreed to cooperate in the corruption investigation."

Like McCain, Palin believes that oil drilling is the only solution to our energy problems. “I beg to disagree with any candidate who would say we can’t drill our way out of our problem,” she says. She supports more drilling in protected areas of the Outer Continental Shelf and the Alaska Natural Wildlife Refuge, once attacking McCain for his “close-mindedness on ANWR.”

As Carl Pope of the Sierra Club says, “No one is closer to the oil industry than Governor Palin.” Sarah Palin has taken positions that would ensure a continuation of the Bush-Cheney energy policies. She supports drilling everywhere and ignores the need for binding reductions in global warming pollution even though her state is melting. The continuation of these policies will continue higher energy costs, more severe hurricanes and droughts, and despoiled natural treasures.

well, we might steal back some moderate voters who thought Obama's lack of experience means he's removed from corruption and politics.

Lets not hype up the issue of experience, because mccain has that. He needs a runnnig mate with different strengths.

The following isn't a justification, just a reality check. Corruption in washington is rampant....welcome to america. Harry Reid and Bill Clinton have been known to "forget" some income when they file taxes.

I have mixed feelings about this pick. In a way, it says that Mccain is going to do his own thing reguardless of politics and what people think, he's basing his decisions on what he thinks is right. On the other hand, I dont really know anything about her.
