what happen was the person put a bid in on oct 31 for 300 but it wouldnt show till some one put a bid higher or of equal price.... but in the end he still had the high bid n won

i know how he won he bidded probably like 340 that was his reserve but if no one bids higher then his bid it goes back to 300 i been on eBay for years i use to do the same shit matter of fact i do it still to this day like i can enter my highest bid and if no one bids higher i can get it for the current bid so in your case it was 300

nope... you both bidded the same amount.
the one who placed their bid first wins... simple as that. and according to the date/time stamp listed... he bid before you. and most ebay auctions have what you call proxy bid... or automatic bids. that is why it LOOKS as though he bidded after you but in fact the other person just placed ONE bid and it was before you placed yours. but the other person wins because like i stated before... their bid was before yours. earlier bid wins. if the other person's bid was say $310 or $340 it would actually be your maximum bid PLUS the bid increment. which would be $305.
