you will still need to go through inspection through nys, in short simple terms your fucked. for the simple fact that you have to file the 907a AND you have to pay $200 with the 907a AND wait 2 months for a inspection appointment, also EVERYTHINGGGGGGG HAS to have a vin number attached and EVERTYHING MUST be legit or else car will fail inspection and the cops might be involved. trust this i found this out after swapping a car and insured it the day before i went to the dmv, only for the lady to tell me car couldnt be registered in nys, EVEN THOUGH car passed inspection in CT.

if its salvaged and not rebuilt, i think you are supposed to be given a disclosure of what needs to be replaced

Interesting. If I were to purchase a theft recovery vehicle with a rebuilt PA title, I'd have to go through the same steps to register it in NY correct?

yep u would need to go thru teh salvage inspection. i just had that same situation, got a rebuilt salvage from PA and thats what they told me.. i got lucky though, i checked the carfax, and it had been inspected in NY and issued a rebuilt title before going to PA. so i called albany, and they told me what i had to tell them to do at the dmv
