Salvage Titles for Dummies.
A Salvaged Vehicle is a car that has either been recovered after a theft or damaged due to accident, fire or flood (etc). The insurance companies decide when to the salvage a vehicle. Every state has their own rules for salvaged cars.. For example NYS has a 907a, which means that it can only be inspected in NYS. Other states don't follow the same rules as nys. as a rule if u purchase a salvage vehicle in state (a) is best to inspect it in (a) because if u decide to inspect the vehicle in state (B), state (a) will still consider it salvaged. NYS is really the only state that requires it's vehicles to be inspected here and subject all other salvaged vehicles from other states to be reinspected. It is ILLEGAL to purchase USED airbags in NYS, they have to be purchased from the dealer. In a nutshell, if ur from NYS and plan or purchasing a Previous Salvage or rebuilt title car from another state, keep in mind that they might pull you to inspection.
