Not true. You can still play on live but you have to be careful with how the games are burned. Also it's not a good idea to play the games super early. The site I go to already has COD Modern Warfare 2 but i'm not gonna download it until it comes out in the store. They have these things called ban waves which is when Microsoft decides to ban a whole bunch of people's live accounts. They just did one on October 30 and tons of people in the modding forum got banned. It's cool to have a modded console cause it saves you tons of money but then again it sucks cause you have to stress all the time about being banned when you least expect it.

^^i heard about the ban wave over 4000 people got banned for using forza 2 early thats why i waited to dl it and burn it 2 days after the game came out and stealth check it to make sure everything was okay to play

^^ Man i think that MS is getting smarter now. I read through pages and pages of people posting that they got banned and it seemed random. Some people said they had played burned copies of NBA 2k10, some said Tekken 6, others said it was cause of Borderlands, and a lot of the people seemed like they had Samsung drives.

^^wow i didnt know of all those cames i knew they sent the wave out but MS is gettingg smart with there shit but im very caution about it...plus my drive is flashed..its not like there gunna find out and shit...u just really have to make sure u stealth check it tho thats it

my boy jus got banned for playin the borderland game....are they banning jus the people with modded xbox's.......i got the ligit copy of modern 2 and played it already....

If you don't have a modded console then I don't think they'll ban you but if I were you I wouldn't get in the habit of playing games way before their release date even if they are legit copies and your xbox is not modded because it sets off flags in the MS system. Even if you don't play online or pull out your hard drive to play, as soon as you pop in any game it keeps a record of the game and date it was played on the Xbox's on board memory and is sent to MS once you go online. If they constantly see you playing games early they may think you have a modded console and ban you.
