.500 lift for most motors.
.550 lift for bigger cams.
.600 lift for checo racing cams.

all depends on the head. if u can get a b-series head to flow 290 or so for the price u giving thats good. for a h-series head i would say using stock valve size bout 310+. and for a k-series head similar to an h.
